fUCk the gender-based dISCRIMINATIOn!!!!!!!!!!!
Discrimination is that negative element of our society which has been alive, I doubt whether it will ever be eradicated, since the day Adam and Eve came to life. B.C, A.D, 1920, 2010, 3050 – irrespective of the timeline, there would not be a grain of change in the level of its application. And the best exemplar of this trait, according to me, would be ‘my own’ India . Religious, social, sexual, financial; you name it, we have it. Undoubtedly, there will be more additions rather than subtraction to this unbearably long list.
To me, the worst kind of discrimination is the gender based one. Being a girl myself, my hatred for it is further accelerated. From the very first class of social science I have been taught that men and women are equal and have equal footage in the society. So, why is it that when it comes to freedom and liberty, boys enjoy an extra point and we girls are underhand? It is completely legitimate and acceptable for a guy to smoke, drink, stay out late, wear a boxer short and roam around. But the moment a girl does these aforesaid things, fingers are pointed on her and she is labeled ‘lOOSe cHARACTEr’!!!! It is correct if a man fights for his rights but woman cannot as it is against her ‘moral principles and values’!! Then what good is this ‘principle’ shit if it can’t protect her against the agonies levied upon her by some moron, then why the hell treasure it like a prized possession???
Time and again women have been stamped as the ‘weaker sex’. Give me one good proof that can establish that we are weak. What is that extraordinarily wonderful accomplishment that gives man superiority??? The fact that they can go slutting out on a 9to9 job for the whole life or that they are physically (a bit) stronger!! Though it is not applicable for each and every one of them. Well a woman can do all the same, that too with a baby in her womb. If men had to do so, then we would get to see a rather nice picture of them running with their tail between their legs. :D
33% of the seats(I hope my stats is correct) in both the houses of Parliament is reserved for women , but not even a 10% of it is filled. Women participation is not at all encouraged or promoted lest come and try. The pay commission states that equal amount of money should be paid to a person irrespective of the gender. But such a thing barely happens. That combined with the leach of bosses. :X
And here is the worst part. We women ourselves, unaware, promote discrimination. For example, when a woman is separated from her husband, fellow women label her ‘slut’ without once taking the pain to enquire what compelled her to do so. One might disagree, but alas! This is the truth. Same is the case with adolescent girls. Adolescence is that phase of our life when we ‘bloom and finish’ or rather that process is in progress. Naturally, we attract attention. And if she is ever abused by some crazy nymphomaniac, she rushes to her mother first. But instead of asking her daughter to stand up and get her culprit nailed, she forces her to keep quiet or their reputation might get tarnished!!! What the fuck!!!!! You are more concerned about an abstract commodity (equally useless) than your daughter??? And to top it, afterwards the girl is treated like an outcast by her family members, thus driving her into depression and further suicide. Given this situation, I would prefer to be a motherless orphan than undergo such harassment!!!
To be precise, few misconceptions need to be straightened out. First, we, women are not( were never and would never be) the ‘weaker sex’. Secondly, if men are good at anything, we are better and the best!! Thirdly, for all those who give that ‘sTRENGTh’ shit, let me tell you, women are the ones with the ‘sTAMINa’ courtesy our ability to give birth. And also, we are emotionally and mentally sound (most of the times). We don’t go towards alcohol to find a solace from our problems. Rather we ‘bALl’ enough to stand up and face them bravely.
So, STOP ‘uNDERESTIMATINg’ and ‘uNDERMININg’ us. And DARE preaching around that women are, of all, ‘wEAk’!!!!!!!!!

tITTLe-lESs
Actually I found an old class 10 diary of mine, rather a scribly!!!
For the record, it was one of the best years of my life. AWESOME, ROCKIN... there aren't enough words to describe it.
Well well, the fist thing I see here is 'Left Right Left', that serial shown in Sab tv. M GODddddd!!!! me, ankita and ashna, we three were totally crazy about it!!!! Every morning at school the first question we asked to each other was "kal LRL dekhi kya???" And then going mad discussing the past days episode. :D WE were simply MAD after rajeev khandelwal, especially ashna!!!! aafat vala pagal.... o.O
And then there were the games period, a once in a week luxury!!! We did each and every type of pagalpani we could in that 40 minutes, varying from playing Pakda-Pkdi to sitting on that road blocker thing. :D
Those free periods: baapre tab to aur b pgla jate the!!! from going up to the substitute teacher i.e ravinder kumar and telling him that Sir, you look like Abhishek Bachhan!!!!! as a dare. And guess what he replied "Ya i know, there are 9 people who are alike"!!!! IMAGINE!!!!!! He had got a really grand welcome. And
then that Megha mam, each and evry boy of 10 E was crazy after her!!! ;)
That was the year my best friend left Ranchi and went away for 3 looooooong years!! :'( I missed her so much and still miss her!!!
Saawariya was about to release, I was dying to watch that movie but it turned out to b such a WASTE of time... complete YUCKKK it was. Also lost a bet because of that dumbo movie...
That year my cute, sweet, awesome nephew was born!!! oo he looked so red the day he was born and now 3 years after he can make anyone go red ;). Btw, he'll be 3 years old this sunday :) wOOw PARTY!!!!!!!!!
That was the year when I had got addicted to Agatha Christie!!! SECRET ADVERSARY, MURDER IN THE RETROSPECT, ORDEAL BY THE INNOCENT and mayyy more.........
Diwali that year will always be special to me. My brother gifted me FAstrack watch!!!!! I was on the 7th heaven!!! :D
Then the 'BOARDS' came and went away as always, the diffrence being I was a candidate that year. Graduated to 11th, which turned out to be the most miserable year I ever had, but thankfully turned ROCKIN the year after 12'A' ROCKSSS!!!!!!!
I had suddenly developed a new intrest for poetry. One I really liked was 'Mother" by Waman Nimbalkar:
Dark, dark slender body..This was my mother
Drudged in the woods for sticks from the morning on
All we brothers, sitting, waiting, and watching for her
And if she didnot sell the wood, all of us slept hungry.
Then ther was a peice by Faiz Ahmed Faiz:
Not enough to shed tears to suffer anguish
Not enough to nurse love in secret.
Today, walk in public squares fetterd in chains.
And when Anil Kumble and Sourav Ganguly retired, I was like 'Shit MANNN!!!!!!' will never forget Ganguly taking out his shirt and whirling it in the air!! :D
I also learnt some Latin that year, for example,
1."Erisne amicus meus in Libro vultum" which means "Will you be my freind on Facebook?"
2."Calefactio mundi-veniat! Colorandum pellem totum annum et via brevior ad litus!" which means ummm... cant quite remember , hehehee!!!
They say 'Curiosity kills the cat'. Its 100% true, mine being a perfect living example. I read the 7th part of Harry Potter series i.e. The Deathly Hallows because I could not wait till it hit the theaters.. :) It was a really 'fat' book. It was good for reading once. But then I feel so because I have never been a great Harry Potter fan like my friends Kalyani and Shinjini!!!
I saw X-Men Origins and 'fell flat on my face' after watching Hugh Jackman!!! God he's got THE looks!!! On 25th June, 2009 Micheal Jackson died. I felt bad cause his songs were ROCKIN!!! especially: Dangerous, Billie Jean and his Moonwalk was out of the world!!!!
All of a sudden, I went on a reading Sidney Sheldon spree. One after another, it was like "Gimme more, Gimme more". My personal favorites of his works are 'A Stranger in the Mirror', 'Master of the Game' and 'Memories of Midnight'. Well there is a still lot of his books I have not read till yet, but will surely read someday!! :) The best thing about Sheldon is that he has the innate ability to carry parallel stories in the same book without loosing hold on any of them. Such is his adeptness that the interest and eagerness doesn't leave the reader till the last page.
I also read Tagore's works(for the first ever time). AWESOME is the word best suited.
And I would like to end with a sentence I read somewhere, had logic. 'Cats are intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a purpose'!!! Right isn't it?? B-)
ADIOS till next time!!

From ambition to aspiration, from acquiring to becoming.
From ambition to aspiration, from acquiring to becoming.
This is my topic for an All India Essay Competition. Though I have already submitted it, but still I would like to have some feedback.:)
Ambition, aspiration, acquiring, becoming. The four steps to success. Since childhood; almost all of us nurture ambitions for our life. Ambition is the foundation stone of this process. It leads to an aspiration which propels us to gain something with our efforts and abilities. We need a reason which motivates us to work harder and harder to attain the goal we set out for. But the path towards it is not as smooth and simple as it seems to be.
Ambition is the desire for personal achievement. It provides the motivation and determination necessary to give directions in life.Ambitious people seek to be the best in what they choose to do for attainment of power or superiority. Acquired power can be wielded in the name of a vague or clear ideal or multiple ideals. When ambition is used to seek a clear ideal, it develops a close relationship to extremism. William Arthur Word had said, "If you can imagine it, you can create it. If you can dream it, you can be it."
We all have a dream, but the difference is how we realize our dream. Throughout human history, many examples can be found of people who were extremely ambitious, for better or worse. The notorious Greek Herostraus had the ambition to become famous by destroying the Temple of Artemis.
To be good at any point of life is certainly not an easy task to accomplish. One has to go through an immense amount of hardship before attaining one's goal. As we are now living in a world which gets more competitive day by day, its important to scrutinize our wishes from different perspectives before getting started.
Ambition and its predominant theme of acquisition is being touted as the new ideal of an increasingly materialistic world. Prescribed as an indispensable prerequisite for 'success', it has long erased the virtue of aspiration from the minds of our youth. There has been a radical shift of mentality, a huge change in outlook and mindset of people. People were, and still are ambitious but what has changed is the manner of achieving our dreams, achieving 'success'. Its a matter of great pity that aspiration is lacking in today's youth. In the past, people used to meticulously plan their path and worked really hard to carve a niche for themselves through forward thinking and also the correct manner. But today, the whole situation has reversed. People tend to get attracted towards the shortcut rather than going for hard work. They want the easiest way possible, even if it requires treading the illegal and illegitimate path, no matter who might get hurt or trampled in that process to achieve 'success'.
( an easy way eh!!! ;) )
the proverb 'People worship the rising sun' is apt for the current scenario. The person on top has the largest number of followers. The worst part is that none of the followers are concerned about the scene behind the curtain i.e. the path taken by the sun is immaterial. Even the one upon a time hard working yester generation is also getting sucked up into the centroid of this trend. A recent advertisement by a popular tea brand showcases this phenomenon in an adept manner. A father is shown re-assuring his son not to feel low as he will get him admitted in an engineering college using money power. In a way, the elder is instilling in his ward that bribery and corruption can solve problems, and help attain 'success' without any toil. Alas! but this is situation world around today. Schools, colleges: engineering, medical - you name it, we have a shortcut for it. No wonder, bridges keep falling every now and then.
Aspiration plays a key role in development and molding of character as well as the personality. Characterized by a subtle yet firm will to achieve or become, aspiration advocates the pursuit of excellence as opposed to 'success'. Life is a race, where nobody remembers the person who comes second. But then if you are excellent, success will automatically follow us.
Ambition and aspiration can be seen as diametrically opposite manifestation of the soul's need to evolve. both when combined truly defines the human spirit. But the road taken no longer matters. At the end of the day, what matters is the kind of money and status we acquired, rather than how we acquired it.

D bst frns of ma lyf..............
I consider myself the fortunate person in this world. I have been blessed with true, awesome friends at each and every stage of my life. Today, I Sweta Nair, dedicate this blog to all those friends of mine who have been with me for the past 17 years and have promised that they will always be there for me.
Jithu, Ayush and Kartika. The first friends of my life. And guess what today we 4 are in different states of India and yet we still are the best of friends :). And, one of them is going tomorrow for higher studies :(. m all alone here!!!!!
I'll start with Jithu. GOD!!!!!!! A guy wid so much mood-swings. Our friendship is more like a silent film, I would say. Its like, he shares evrything with me but on my side, I never have to speak up. It is more or less understood. Last two years we were in the same wacko section in school, and it was such funnn!!!! From assignments to practicals to projects, we copied everything from each other.LORD!!! it was such WOW!!!!
I miss those ol' times so much.
Ayush. My 'best-est' friend. The whole world might leave me alone, but I am 100% sure that dis guy will stand beside me, with me, supporting me. Ours is a friendship which has stood the test of time.Well, it started in Nursery-C and still on.... We have fought, I think twice.. ya twice.Though, first time around it was my fault-cum-stupidity dat we did not talk for 3 years!!! IMAGINE!!! but den we patched up and again dis year we fought like dogs!! :). As usual, we are back to square one.The best part is that whenever I log on to Facebook, I know that he will be online. Had it not been for his internet-addict tendency, I would have got bored of Facebook and Orkut a long time agooooooooo. But d sad part is that he is leaving tomorrow :'(
Have fun 'cHECKy' and dare you forget to gimme your new number.
P.S : d most patient, most tolerant, least angered person in the world has to be him. Our still being friends is a proof .;)
Kartika. She is another saint of a girl. Mild, soft-spoken, cute, sweet.. well there isn't enough words to describe her. Breaking News : she got the 2nd rank in her college for B.com. Studious girl. There is no such secret of each other that we don know about. Precisely, we are each others safety lockers. God only knows what would have happened if some good guy had not made Facebook and Orkut!!!!! hope to see you soon my sweetheart!! <3
SPECIAL MENTION : sOUMYa kEJRIWAl
Kudos to her. She kept me sane during the last two years of my school. First day of standard 11 I experienced something short of a heart attack.52 boys and 6 girls, 5 of which were gone cases. then one fine day she came into the class, looking sober and calm-like. Initially she was a H.C.V Verma worm but later as we came to know each other, we started having blast. Though 11 was not a high, but 12 was the highest. Many of my best school memories are with her. From physics practicals to chem practical to AD mam's class to USP sir's calss. The day I had made her bunk a class was simply WOW!!! with mam trying her level bst to find us :) [though she failed miserably]. And all those ronaldo tlaks and my doodles.. its still freh in my memory as if it happened yesterday. I miss you so so much :)
